The Gold Standard

Hotel Indigo Athens, Ga has opened (the same weekend the Georgia bulldawgs won the opening home game!) The hotel is slated to receive LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) later this year which will make it the first private development in Athens to achieve LEED certification and one of only five hotels in the nation to achieve Gold status.
Hotel Indigo brings a new standard of style and sustainability to the already deeply creative and inspiring miasma enveloping this lovely city. Cool architecture by SBCH paired with simple elegant furnishings crafted from humble materials- all from the design studio at EHD- create a warm and relaxing atmosphere. Our partnership with Athens-based Mercury Art Works on this project has led to a local and authentic collection of art and music posters throughout the property (featured artists: Rinne Allen, Chris Bilheimer, Tate Foley, Shannah Montgomery, Marisu Wehrenberg, and Chris Wyrick.)
The installation of the larger-than-life iconic buffalo sculpture by Michael Stipe is the palladium-coated gem that sets off the original works installed in suites and public spaces. Next up: the Rialto Room and Lounge!
