What an exciting culmination of months and months of thought, planning, finagling and laboring! If only we had found the party pic.s dude Friday night so you could see the ear to ear grins of hardworking team EHD at the big opening party (we also ALL looked really gorgeous!)
Our kitchen installation at the HC&G Idea House was a ton of fast paced high pressure work. Especially for Kristy who was putting finishing touches on her master piece custom salvaged lumber table and for Ellen who had to rush out and style like mad in advance of an NYT scout!
Here are some teaser shots Kristy took after the New York Times photographer had finished. Hopefully you'll catch more this coming Thursday in the NYT House and Home section!
Overall, the entire house and the different ways in which designers embraced or interpreted the eco-challenge while maintaining their aesthetic was very inspiring.
Some standouts:
Campion Platt's whole room, especially the hemp fishnet casement which we were lucky enough to share with him.
I also fell deeply in love with the re-used zinc stools at his game table
Diane Burgio's gorgeous American walnut wine cellar, fully tricked out with intimate dining space and plenty of local vino - marvelously executed by Wolfgang Pflanzl
Local designer John Bjornen presented a beautiful and apt selection of artwork along with several seating vignettes in the entry. He featured a recycled tire table that I have been pining for for months!
